Introduction to musical instruments
1. Piano The piano is a keyboard instrument with a wide range of pitches. It usually has 88 keys. It can produce a rich variety of timbres, from clear and bright high notes to deep and mellow low notes. Its sound is highly expressive and can be used for solo performances, ensemble playing or to accompany vocal music, instrumental music and other musical forms. For example, in the classical music piece "Moonlight Sonata" by Beethoven, the piano can delicately convey a variety of emotions such as tranquility and passion.
2. Guitar The guitar has six strings and is divided into types like classical guitar, folk guitar and electric guitar. The classical guitar has a soft and mellow timbre, which is suitable for playing classical music. The folk guitar is often used for singing while playing, with a clear and bright sound that can match the human voice well. The electric guitar relies on pickups and amplifiers to produce sound, and its timbre is changeable, capable of creating intense and exciting sound effects like those in rock music.
3. Violin The violin belongs to the string family. It has a beautiful and delicate timbre and a relatively high pitch range. It is one of the important instruments in the symphony orchestra and can play very lyrical melodies. The player can create continuous and melodious sounds by drawing the bow across the strings. For instance, in Mendelssohn's "Violin Concerto in E minor", the melody played by the violin is as charming as singing.
4. Flute The flute is a woodwind instrument, usually made of metal. Its timbre is clear and bright with high penetrating power. The flute can play a series of notes rapidly. When playing in the high register, the sound is sharp and melodious. It is widely used in many musical styles such as classical music and light music. For example, in Mozart's "Flute Concerto", it shows lively and agile characteristics.
5. Drum The drum is a representative of percussion instruments, including snare drum, bass drum, tom-tom drum and so on. It is characterized by a strong rhythm and can provide a stable beat. Different ways of hitting and positions on the drum can create various rhythmic patterns. It is an indispensable instrument in modern music, especially in styles like rock and jazz, used to create a strong musical atmosphere.
